Projects
Here's just a small sampling of the natural treasures we've helped preserve over the years.
Bennet, North Carolina
Native Roots has assisted with a large-scale longleaf pine restoration project in Bennet, North Carolina. This work included restoration plantings of longleaf pine and vegetation control of unwanted species impeding the growth of the longleaf pine.
Sanford, North Carolina
In Sanford, North Carolina, we assisted with a dam removal project. The work consisted of streambank stabilization by installing native plants suitable for the site and ecosystem. Additionally, the team participated in the collection of native mussels to help ensure their survival as their waters receded.
Canton, North Carolina
The Native Roots team has had ongoing participation in a large-scale invasive plant control project in Canton, NC. The work has consisted of cut-stump and foliar treatments of invasive species, such as oriental bittersweet and multiflora rose.
Belmont, North Carolina
Native Roots has been assisting Catawba Lands Conservancy with invasive plant control on multiple protected preserves in Charlotte and the surrounding areas. Autumn olive, Chinese privet, kudzu, wisteria, Bradford pear, and mimosa are among the species our team has been treating.
